APRIL WILL SING THE SOPRANO SOLO IN REENA ESMAIL'S THIS LOVE BETWEEN US IN LOS ANGELES MASTER CHORALE'S HEAVEN + EARTH: THE MUSIC OF REENA ESMAIL AND PHILIP GLASS
On Sunday October 15, 2023 at 7:00 pm at Walt Disney Concert Hall, April will sing the Soprano solo in Reena Esmail's This Love Between Us at the Los Angeles Master Chorale's 23/24 season-opening concert. Conducted by Grant Gershon, Esmail’s This Love Between Us examines our shared humanity by juxtaposing texts of seven major religions of the Indian subcontinent, set with a unique combination of Hindustani and Western classical styles, bringing together chorus, Baroque orchestra, tabla, and sitar.

April reprised her role of Mrs. Sinclair at the New York City premiere of Eric Whitacre's "The Gift of the Magi" at DCINY's concert "The Holiday Music of Eric Whitacre" on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at 7:00 pm on the Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage of Carnegie Hall. Conducted by Eric Whitacre, other artists included Kelly Yu-Chieh Lin, Accompanist, Laurence Servaes, David Castillo, Sara Jean Ford, and Peter Kendall Clark.
APRIL IS ONE OF THE SOLOISTS ON DYLAN MATTINGLY'S "BAKKHAI" FOR JACARANDA MUSIC'S SEASON OPENING CONCERT
Saturday, September 24th at 8pm at the First Presbyterian Church of Santa Monica. Conductor David Bloom leads April Amante, Luc Kleiner, Holly Sedillos, and Kathryn Krasovec with a chamber ensemble of instrumentalists in Dylan Mattingly's "Bakkhai". The concert also features Benjamin Britten's "Six Metamorphoses after Ovid", Andrew Norman's "A Companions Guide to Rome" and Veronika Krausas "Théâtre du Soleil".
APRIL AMANTE SINGS SOPRANO SOLO IN HANDEL'S MESSIAH WITH THE SANTA BARBARA CHORAL SOCIETY
On December 18 & 19, 2021, April sang the Soprano solos of Handel's Messiah from Part I in Hahn Hall at the Music Academy of the West, conducted by Jo Anne Wasserman. The Santa Barbara Choral Society was founded in 1948, and is the central coast's oldest semi-professional community chorus.
APRIL AMANTE SELECTED AS A SEMIFINALIST IN THE MUSIC INTERNATIONAL GRAND PRIX ADULT CLASSICAL VOICE CATEGORY
Semifinalists will sing live at selected locations internationally in February 2022 for a chance to win cash awards presented at the Winners Concert in NYC on May 21, 2022 at Merkin Hall, Lincoln Center! Stay tuned!

APRIL MAKES HER LOS ANGELES OPERA DEBUT AS SOLO SOPRANO VOICE AND CHORUS SOLOIST IN THE WORLD PREMIERE OF MATTHEW AUCOIN'S "EURYDICE"
April's voice can be heard offstage as the Soprano Solo Voice in the beginning of Act 3 of Matthew Aucoin's "Eurydice", and also a Chorus Soloist in Act 2. This world premiere is a co-commission with the MET that tells the story of the Orpheus and Eurydice myth from Eurydice's perspective. For performance and ticket information click below!

LYRA NEW YORK MOZART VOCAL COMPETITION- SEMIFINALIST
April was one of the three Semi-Finalists selected for the 2018 Lyra New York Mozart Vocal Competition, Opera Division. Semi-finalists were chosen by online video submission of Mozart arias.

APRIL SELECTED AS AN INTERNATIONAL SEMIFINALIST IN TIER 1 FOR THE 5TH ANNUAL 2018 JAMES TOLAND VOCAL ARTS COMPETITION
From the JTVA Facebook page: We received 175 applications for our 5th annual vocal competition on June 15-16. These exceptional singers hail from 27 states and 7 foreign countries, including Austria, Canada, Chile, Germany, Russia, South Korea, and The Netherlands. 119 applications are in Tier I, 44 in Tier II, and 12 in both tiers. We have 90 sopranos, 37 mezzo-sopranos, 21 tenors, 15 baritones, 3 basses, 1 contralto, and 1 countertenor. Our preliminary panel of judges is now hard at work narrowing the field to a group of semifinalists by March 9. These will then be reviewed by a second panel and 7 finalists will be selected in each tier and invited to Oakland to compete in June.

POPS CONCERT AT THE VINA ROBLES AMPHITHEATER
The Vina Robles Amphitheater presented "Symphony at Sunset, an evening of Americana family Pops under the stars", featuring the Opera San Luis Obispo Grand Orchestra led by Brian Alhadeff, featuring April Amante and baritone Babatunde Akinboboye as soloists. RECITAL AT HEARST CASTLE
April Amante and baritone Tyler Reece were accompanied by pianist John Ballerino in a concert at the Hearst Castle's IMAX Theater on Saturday May 21st. Their art songs and lieder were interspersed with a multi-media lecture about the life of Phoebe Apperson Hearst given by Leta Miller.
PACIFIC OPERA PROJECT- THE MERRY WIDOW
March 2016: Performed Mimi (Dodo) the grisette and covered the title role in Pacific Opera Project's production of "The Merry Widow", set in the old wild west. Original libretto by Josh and Kelsey Shaw.
ANOUSH THE OPERA
May 2015: April performed the role of Village Girl 2 and soprano section leader in the Lark Society's production of Armen Tigranian’s Armenian opera Anoush at the Ambassador Auditorium in Pasadena, starring Hasmik Papyan. Although not Armenian herself, April was thrilled to have the opportunity to sing in Armenian, which she had never gotten to do before! In addition, she was honored to be a part of this historical opera in this important year for the Armenian people.
FIGARO'S AMERICAN ADVENTURE WITH LOS ANGELES OPERA OUTREACH
February 2015: Performed the role of Marcellina (Soprano) in LA Opera Outreach's Demonstration Performance Tour of "Figaro's American Adventure", written by Eli and LeRoy Villanueva. It is their version of "Barber of Seville" set in Revolutionary America that tours to a variety of venues for elementary school and family audiences, including the Warner Grand Theater and Pepperdine University Center for the Arts.
